Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
Sometimes we all need a little inspiration, support or extra motivation to be our best as we navigate our way through life. Did you know that you and your immediate family and household members have access to professional and confidential support through our EAP provider, TELUS Health. The service is free and can be accessed for any number of issues (no longer capped).
The EAP can be accessed to assist you with work and personal issues including:

Support for First Nations people
A dedicated support line is available with a team of clinicians who either identify as, or who have in-depth cultural awareness and experience in supporting First Nations people. Call 1800 816 152 to book an appointment.
TELUS Health also offer training packages for individuals and groups that are delivered by a First Nations person and tailored to the needs of you or your office. Topics include conflict, change, resilience, leadership, communication and mental wellbeing. Please reach out to the WHS team on whs@pwss.gov.au or call 1800 747 977 (option 3) to discuss your needs.
Support for managers
The EAP offers managers and supervisors access to a Manager Hotline for brief support and advice on people related issues including:
- Managing highly distressed employees who are at risk of self-harm or suicide
- Assisting staff to cope with change
- Providing information on mental health issues
- Managing challenging interpersonal and team dynamics
- Encouraging an employee to access the EAP
- Managing the impact of mental illness in the workplace
- Responding to employee grief and trauma
Accessing EAP
Contact TELUS Health 24 hours per day, 7 days per week to schedule an appointment. Appointments can be made by
calling 1300 360 364, using the online app or alternatively call the support line for First Nations people on 1800 816 152.
All EAP services are confidential, with the following exceptions:
- consent by the client
- where there is a risk to the safety of the client, or others
- complying with statutory duties (e.g. mandatory reporting)
- complying with a court order or subpoena
